Barcelona-tastic...
This is a really weird keyboard. It is neither Spanish, which is something I have gotten somewhat used to, nor English. It is something else and for the life of me, I cannot find the question mark button. Well, onto updating the blog. I am really upset because finding USB adapters in Europe to throw pictures up has been hard. We have lots of pics, but they are stuck on our camera right now. Soon enough...
Well, we are now in Barcelona. Firstly, we got horrendously lost today. Barcelona has a very confusing transit system, as two companies own the metro system and transferring and finding the right train is a challenge. There are two stations called Gracia, and we went to the wrong one. We walked around for nearly 2.5 hours finding the damn place, eventually stumbling upon it after finding the right station, getting out at the wrong exit and walking all the way around the area.
We were extremely famished from not eating on a 5.5 hour train ride from Madrid, so we inhaled dinner at a restaurant and have been casually relaxing in the hostel tonite, getting to know a bunch of Americans staying here as well as folks from Finland and Sweden. We also met a lovely trio of Mexican-American girls on the train and will be going to the beach with them tomorrow, if the weather permits. We also hope to make to more museums, sight-see and get a feel for the city.
Tomorrow we are going to see the North Mississippi Allstars at the Apollo in Barcelona as well. Other than that, nothing much more to report, so I will leave you with a few recontextualized quotes that made us laugh more than ever on the trip...
"I am going to go hit on his wife" ¨- our friend Mark upon viewing an old man at a nightclub.
"This is not a pillow case, this is a pillow sleeve" ¨- Shain upon learning that his pillow case had openings on both ends.
"There are no bathrooms anywhere. Dont the Italians go to the bathroom here." - Fisch in the Madrid, Spain metro station frustrated about not finding a toilet.
"Mayonnaise is the cavalry of Canada" - Lance (we still do not know what we meant).
Much Love...
Shain, Fisch, Kowski, Kalman and Lance.
